I laughed and cried my way through this story. Thor, god of thunder, etc. loves his life although after seeing a small man dancing and twirling with a light beaming from him in a storm, maybe not. Thor is use to fighting his way through clubs and is a slut with men so he can’t understand his dissatisfaction with not the men parading in front of him. Meanwhile Orin, half elven and half sand cat, is happy reading ancient scrolls and books and translating them. Orin is the fated mate of Thor and what a journey they have with their love!What a great story, as always is the case of all the books written by Lisa Oliver! I know that once I start reading one of her books I can’t put it down until I’m finished! This is my favorite of the Gods ' series. In a lot of the books in the shifter genre, the smaller mates either are jerks to the point of madness about being independent and tough, or they allow themselves to be helpless and walked all over. Not the case with Orin.Orin, while small in stature, stood up for himself and what he felt was right, but at the same time was reasonable, when it came to understanding a situation that had upset him, it wasn't dragged on, and whined about incessantly.Thor also grew as a mate. He wasn't expecting a small mate, so there were some thoughtless actions, and he made some thoughtless remarks, but he quickly learned. He wasn't stuck on stupid and arrogant for 95% of the book.I really liked them as a couple. They balanced each other, Thor learned to appreciate Orin as a book lover, and Orin understood that Thor is a warrior and needed a good fight every now and then.I saw myself in Orin. I am a book lover and love storms, with all the thunder and lightning. The scene on the hill, with the hammer, Mijolnir, was epic. The jealously was real.Lisa Oliver is an auto buy author for me. The stories are always well written, with few errors, and many Britishisms, the make absolutely no sense for American characters to use ( which have become part of their charm.)I have read all of her books, and even if I haven't like a story or character ( there have only been 4,) I don't regret buying or reading them. Even though it's not possible for Lisa to publish a new book daily, I still check every day for a new book.
